Frequently Asked Questions

Q?Can I change or remove my numbers if they are already programmed to the GPS device
A.

Yes numbers can be changed and removed.

Q?How accurate is GPS
A.

Your GPS is accurate to the nearest 300 metres of your vehicle. The location given may not be an exact location but very close to.

Q?Is it possible for something to interfere with a GPS device
A.

Yes. Your GPS device antenna relies on signals to an extent. If the car with the GPS is inside a metallic or underground garage or in an area with poor cellular service, it can be affected and may not respond right away to your text messages. When your vehicle begins to drive or move away from that area, the signal strength may increase allowing the device to respond. It’s important not to panic if your device does not respond right away. Also do not send messages within seconds of each other to overwhelm the device, this uses up unnecessary credit when the device does begin to respond.

Q?Can my GPS get wet
A.

Yes your GPS can withstand some minor splashes but it should NEVER be submerged or placed in water.

Q?Does my GPS stop tracking when I disarm it
A.

Technically your GPS is always ‘tracking’ but it will not send automatic messages if it is disarmed. It will not consume credit when it is not in use. You can still text for location, microphone and shutdown when it is disarmed and it will respond to you.

Q?Does it make noise or have lights
A.

No, your GPS device DOES NOT make noise or have external lights. It is a ‘silent’ alarm. It only notifies you by text messages or a call.

Q?Can it shut down my car automatically
A.

No your GPS device CAN NOT shut down your car automatically. This feature is only activated when the device receives the shutdown command.

Q?Can it be seen easily
A.

No the device can’t be easily seen. It’s a plain dark colour to avoid detection. No stickers, branding or lights.

Q?Does my GPS provider know where my car is as all times
A.

No your GPS provider IS NOT tracking your vehicle at all times as we do not provide a tracking or recovery facility.  If you have any technical issues and you notify us of this, that is the only time we are made aware of the status of your GPS device.

Q?Can I move my GPS to another vehicle
A.

Yes your device can be removed and placed in another vehicle. Simply contact your GPS provider to set up an appointment to do so. Removal and placement in a new vehicle will attract costs.

Q?My phone has been lost or stolen; can I still contact my GPS device
A.

Yes you can still interact with your GPS device once you recall the GPS Phone Number. Your GPS can be contacted from any cellphone once you know your GPS Phone number.
